Custom Smilies
I know why your reading this…
And I know you IP Address….
Why?…
Because you use the RTSE…
(Also… I don’t know your IP address)
You are here because you want more…
You want more from our extension that right now we can’t provide.
It’s called custom Smiles… and I’m here to teach you how to do it.
Here is an explained step by step process.
1. Enable Hidden Folders… duh
2. If you didn’t read step one, Re-read step one.
3. If you don’t know how to do step one, here is the process to help…

A. Start by opening My Documents
B. Then click on Tools and select Folder Options
C. Click on the View tab and then select to turn on Hidden Folders
4. Find your Mozilla Firefox folder.
This will not be under Programs or whatever your looking for it under, look for it in C:\Documents and Settings\(enter user Here)\Application Data\mozillia\firefox\…. blah blah blah

inside of the Mozillia Firefox folder, search for a folder called “rtse”
It will look very much like a folder.
and if you have the extension you have that folder.
inside their will be a file called “smilies.xml”

Open it with notepad or another text editor that is not Word

Inside you will find a bunch of coded mumble jumble(hehe, I typed that file… mostly)

If your smart, you will see a pattern and will learn quickly how to add smiles on your own…
for you who can’t see it…
copy the text Highlighted below…

please tell me that you know where to put it, but since you don’t…
place it after any ”/smiley” tag… and remember the tabs are important… copy those too and make sure it looks uniform…

Now here may be a tricky part…
HOST YOUR SMILIE
if you don’t have a webpage for this smile then go host it in like photobucket or something.
Now we are past that;
insert the webpage your smile is at in the Quoted web address…

Then,
re-name it in the “Happy” part to something original like “Tom Brady” or “Flounder” something really to recognize what the smile is, like “Nana” for a dancing Banana…

Next,
Change the “[CDATA[:-(]”. That already is a smile, change it to a quick typing reference, such as :nana: or :tom: or :fish:…
So that your end result would look “[CDATA[:nana:]”

Now save and quit, reload Firefox, and then your new smile should work.

And working means, when you type “:nana:” in your RTSE text box, your smile will be displayed. I know its complex. But pat yourselves on the back if you made it this far and it works…. Good for You
